Mindset

The power of insights

The business world has turned increasingly complex. Determining cause and effect is not obvious anymore. At the same time, an enormous amount of data is available and «all» enterprises are looking to become data‑driven.

/

Technology alone is not driving improvements – it is people, their competence and ability to use the technology.

But pitfalls abound. Projects started with a «rip‑and‑replace» mindset, not taking advantage of infrastructure already in place. Analyses requested by the business side without a clear purpose and idea of impact, leaving data analysts in the dark. Poor technology governance leading to programming language and tools mayhem. The list is endless.

/

The questions are what to look for, where to look and how to transform data into insights. Insights manifest themselves when your employees are able to reframe problems and shrug off past experiences and old prejudices. When the right answer suddenly appears, following the despair of trial and error.

Despite tech break‑throughs, humans still play the most important role, they are the ones transforming data to insights and need the right skill set to retrieve, understand and use data to solve business problems.

Insight is mainly a mind‑set. However, in an increasingly complex world, technology and your ability to use technology determine how quickly you can arrive at this insight. In Mindshift, we base our deliveries on your existing systems. We are experts at pulling out required data from any system, so that you get your questions answered quickly, leaving your IT‑department undisturbed.

Insights occur when you are able to quantify phenomena that seem complex and blurred. Insights release energy, provide direction and starts a chain reaction.

That is the power of insights.

    Behaviour design for increased conversion

    Behaviour design for increased conversion

Getting young adults to sign up for pension savings was a challenge for SpareBank 1. Digital solutions to educate customers in pension regulations, how installments affect their future pension and the details of how it is calculated, resulted in poor conversion rates. Mindshift applied behaviour psychology to develop a concept where the pension calculator was replaced by a simple digital solution, tapping into the target groups underlying drivers. The new approach resulted in an increase of more than 40% in average amount of payment installed.

  • Segmentation based on behavioural analysis

    Statens Pensjonskasse

    Statens Pensjonskasse

Statens Pensjonskasse is focused on effective processe, so the members will receive as much as possible for their pensions. To identify precise measures for increased self service, the members were segmented after their behaviour. Members with similar behaviours and drivers were placed in the same segment. After this, a number of highly focused measures were identified to influence their behaviours.

This resulted in a data platform that enables continous segmentation of the members, based on actual behaviour, cost effective and precise measures for increased self service behaviour.

    Building a sector-wide digital ecosystem

    Building a sector-wide digital ecosystem

Citizens struggle finding planning documentation relevant to their own property. When they do, they are difficult to interpret and do not provide straightforward answers to their questions – typically, can I build what I have in mind? Mindshift executed a pilot project on behalf of DiBk, in co‑operation with three local municipalities, in which heavily used planning documents were presented on the muncipalities’ websites. The presentations provided simplified texts and visuals that enabled citizens to get their questions answered quickly and reducing traffic to the call centres.

    StatPed

    StatPed

Mindshift established a new data platform for Statped based on Microsoft Azure. Mindshift also developed a set of reports in Power BI for case management and follow‑up, statistics on usage of Statped’s services and tracking of KPI performance related to goals, as stated in the government allocation letter. The reports were designed in close co‑operation between our data engineers and behaviour scientists to ensure usability, user adoption and required actions by the users.
