Reasearch conducted by Østlandsforskning on behalf of KS concludes that early exposure to working life, refugee participation in planning, close follow‑up and a multi‑cultural team of advisors are crucial to the success of an introduction programme.
Mindshift conducted an assessment of the municipality's introduction programme, including its content, process efficiency and IT system support, with a particular eye on improved effectiveness of the programme for the refugees. The report pin‑pointed 11 specific barriers to better performance.
Using principles from «design thinking», Mindshift designed an improved introduction programme to remove the barriers and mapped out an action plan for execution, all of which received much acclaim from both political and administrative leadership in Skedsmo.

Citizens struggle finding planning documentation relevant to their own property. When they do, they are difficult to interpret and do not provide straightforward answers to their questions – typically, can I build what I have in mind? Mindshift executed a pilot project on behalf of DiBk, in co‑operation with three local municipalities, in which heavily used planning documents were presented on the muncipalities’ websites. The presentations provided simplified texts and visuals that enabled citizens to get their questions answered quickly and reducing traffic to the call centres.

Statens Pensjonskasse (SPK) established a programme in 2018 for handling the consequencs of regulatory changes in pension schemes for public sector employees – the PRO25 programme. Mindshift facilitated and contributed to a pre‑study directed towards phase two of the programme, which covers implementation of new regulations and customer service. The pre‑study took a broad perspective, including IT‑architecture, system support for vital processes, implementation of regulations and social responsibility, empowering customers to make informed decisions about their pension.
